Terms of Service
Effective date: August 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Pawalk mobile application and related services (the "Service"), operated by Pawalk ("Pawalk," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
2. Description of Service
Pawalk is a platform that connects dog owners ("Customers") with independent dog walkers ("Walkers") to arrange, schedule, and track dog-walking services (a "Walk"). Pawalk facilitates these connections and processes the associated bookings and fee accounting; the Walk itself is performed by the Walker, who is an independent contractor and not an employee or agent of Pawalk.
Pawalk's role is limited to providing the technology platform through which Customers and Walkers arrange, schedule, and pay for Walks. Pawalk does not itself walk, handle, transport, or otherwise provide care for any dog. Walkers decide for themselves whether to accept any given booking, are solely responsible for their own taxes and other legal obligations arising from providing Walks, and are not employees, partners, agents, or representatives of Pawalk.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. You must provide accurate, current information when creating an account and keep it up to date, including your dog's profile and vaccination status. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
Providing false information about a dog's temperament, bite history, or vaccination status is a material violation of these Terms and may put others at risk.
4. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse another user, whether in-app chat or in person.
- Misrepresent your identity, your dog's temperament or history, or any information required by the Service.
- Attempt to circumvent the Service to arrange payment or bookings outside the platform in a manner that undermines the safety and accountability mechanisms these Terms describe.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
5. Bookings and Payment
Prices shown in the app are set by Pawalk and may change at any time; the price shown at the time a booking is confirmed is the price that applies to that booking. Payment for a Walk is made either (a) in cash, paid directly to the Walker upon completion of the Walk, or (b) by InstaPay transfer paid directly to Pawalk, as selected by the Customer at checkout. Pawalk does not process card payments at this time and does not store any banking credentials.
Where a Customer pays by InstaPay, Pawalk is responsible for remitting the Walker's share of that payment to the Walker. Where a Customer pays in cash, the Walker is responsible for remitting Pawalk's service fee.
6. Cancellations and Fees
Either party may cancel a booking at any time before the Walk begins, including after it has been accepted or confirmed. A Walker cancelling an accepted booking must provide a reason (for example, a mismatch between the dog's profile and its actual temperament or size), which is logged against the booking and may be reviewed.
Cancelling within one hour of a scheduled Walk's start time — or, for an on-demand Walk, at any point after it has been accepted — incurs a late- cancellation fee of EGP 20, charged to whichever party cancelled. Because the Service is cash/InstaPay-based, this fee is added to a Customer's next booking or deducted from a Walker's balance; it is never charged automatically to a card. A pattern of late or repeated cancellations or no-shows is recorded against the account and may result in restrictions, reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
No late-cancellation fee applies where a Walker ends a Walk early for a genuine safety reason (aggression or a bite incident) — see Sections 9 and 11 — or where Pawalk or a Walker cancels or shortens a Walk because weather or similar conditions make it unsafe to continue — see Section 16.
7. Group Walks
Pawalk may offer "Group Walks," in which a single Walker collects multiple dogs from their respective homes within a defined area and walks them together. Each Customer joining a Group Walk holds their own individual booking, priced and cancelled under the same rules as any other Walk (Section 6), unless the Group Walk is cancelled in its entirety by Pawalk, in which case no fee is charged to any Customer or the Walker. A dog with a disclosed bite history, or not marked as friendly with other dogs, is not eligible to join a Group Walk, though it remains eligible for individual Walks.
8. Inherent Risks of Animal Interactions
Customers and Walkers each acknowledge that interacting with animals carries inherent and unpredictable risks — including illness, injury, escape, property damage, or death — even where all parties exercise reasonable care. By using the Service, Customers and Walkers voluntarily accept these inherent risks as an ordinary incident of arranging or performing a Walk. This acknowledgment does not excuse Pawalk, a Customer, or a Walker from liability for their own negligence, intentional misconduct, or violation of these Terms.
9. Walker Responsibilities
Walkers must treat every dog with care, follow instructions and notes provided by the Customer, and report any incident (injury, illness, escape, bite, or other safety concern) immediately through the in-app report feature. A Walker may end a Walk early without a late-cancellation fee where a dog displays aggression or causes a bite; such incidents are reviewed by Pawalk.
If a Walker reasonably believes a dog requires immediate veterinary treatment and contacting the Customer is impractical in the time available, the Walker may seek emergency veterinary care on the Customer's behalf without prior approval. The resulting costs remain the Customer's responsibility, except to the extent they result from the Walker's negligence or intentional misconduct.
Pawalk and Walkers may refuse or cancel a Walk for any dog that presents an unreasonable safety risk, whether or not that risk was previously disclosed in the dog's profile.
10. Customer Responsibilities
The Customer represents that they own the dog being booked, or have the lawful authority of the dog's owner to arrange the Walk on their behalf.
Customers must honestly disclose, and keep current in the dog's profile, any bite history, vaccination status, current medications, injuries, medical conditions, recent surgeries, parasites, or contagious illness that could affect the dog, the Walker, or other dogs sharing a Group Walk. A dog's disclosed bite-history status is recorded at the time a Walker accepts a booking and cannot be altered retroactively for that booking.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate, complete, and up-to-date information about their dogs, including any known history of biting, aggression, dangerous behavior, or other conditions that may reasonably affect the safety of a Walk. Customers must not knowingly provide false or misleading information. If a Customer provides false, incomplete, or misleading information and an incident occurs as a result, the Customer may be held responsible for resulting losses, damages, or consequences to the extent permitted by applicable law. Pawalk may suspend or terminate the Customer's account and may take other appropriate safety measures.
Customers are responsible for providing a properly fitted collar, harness, and leash in good working condition. The Service is hand-to-hand only: a Walker is never given keys, gate codes, or unsupervised access to a Customer's home. The Customer must be personally present to hand the dog directly to the Walker at pickup, and to receive the dog directly from the Walker at drop-off. Pawalk is not responsible if a Customer is unavailable to complete hand-to-hand pickup or drop-off as required.
Customers remain responsible for damage caused by their dog to a Walker, another user, or any third party or property, except to the extent caused by the Walker's negligence or intentional misconduct.
11. Incident Response
If a dog bites or injures a Walker during a Walk, or a credible report is otherwise made that a dog has shown aggression or posed a serious safety risk, the Walker should stop the Walk, return the dog to the Customer if this can be done safely, seek medical attention if needed, and report the incident through the app. No late-cancellation fee applies. Pawalk will investigate and may immediately and temporarily suspend the dog's ability to be booked while doing so, in addition to the account-suspension power described in Section 13; where the investigation confirms a serious safety incident, Pawalk may permanently bar the dog and the associated Customer account from the Service. This section does not create any promise of compensation, medical coverage, or insurance from Pawalk — see Section 15.
If a dog escapes during a Walk, the Walker must report it immediately through the app, take reasonable steps to safely locate and recover the dog, and notify the Customer without delay. Pawalk will assist with coordination using information available on the platform.
If a dog is believed to have been stolen, or a Walk otherwise involves suspected criminal conduct, Pawalk may assist the affected Customer or Walker with documenting the incident and, where legally permitted or required, cooperate with law enforcement or other competent authorities by providing relevant information Pawalk holds about the users involved. Pawalk does not directly share one user's personal information with another user for this purpose — see our Privacy Policy.
12. Ratings and Reviews
After a Walk, Customers may rate and review their Walker. Reviews must be honest and based on an actual completed Walk. Pawalk may remove a review that violates these Terms or is found to be fraudulent.
13. Reporting
Any user may report a safety concern, objectionable content, or a policy violation directly from the Service — using the Report action in a chat thread, or from any booking in their bookings list. Reports are reviewed by Pawalk, and repeated or serious violations may result in suspension or termination of an account under Section 20. Chat is available only between the two parties to a booking and closes when that walk ends, so there is no way for a user to contact you outside a booking you took part in.
Pawalk may immediately suspend a user's access to the Service while investigating any suspected violation of these Terms or safety concern, in addition to the actions described in Section 20.
14. Photos and Recordings
Walkers are required to take a photo confirming a dog has been safely returned at the end of a Walk, and Customers or Walkers may take other photos in connection with a Walk. By using the Service, you grant Pawalk a limited license to store and display such photographs for the purpose of operating the Service, including proof of pickup or return, dispute resolution, and safety investigations. Pawalk does not use these photos for marketing without your separate consent.
15. No Insurance
Pawalk does not provide pet health insurance, veterinary insurance, liability insurance, or property insurance for Customers, Walkers, or dogs, unless expressly stated otherwise in writing. Customers and Walkers are encouraged to maintain their own insurance coverage appropriate to their participation in the Service.
16. Force Majeure
Pawalk shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations under these Terms resulting from causes beyond its reasonable control, including road closures, civil unrest, flooding, extreme weather, government orders, or power or internet outages.
17. Disclaimers
Pawalk performs identity verification for Walkers and reviews dog vaccination records submitted by Customers, but does not guarantee the conduct, reliability, or fitness of any Customer or Walker. Pawalk's role is limited to providing the platform through which Customers and independent Walkers arrange services; Pawalk does not directly perform dog-walking services. THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. Pawalk does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
Location information shown in the Service is approximate and may be delayed or inaccurate due to network conditions, device limitations, or other technical factors. Pawalk is not responsible for theft, property damage, or criminal acts committed by a Customer or Walker, except where required by applicable law.
Pawalk is not responsible for any interaction, communication, or arrangement between a Customer and a Walker that takes place outside the Service — outside the app's booking, chat, and tracking features.
18. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PAWALK SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH A WALK ARRANGED THROUGH THE SERVICE, INCLUDING INJURY TO OR LOSS OF A DOG, OR ANY CONDUCT OF A CUSTOMER OR WALKER, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE. PAWALK'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL FEES PAID BY YOU TO PAWALK IN THE THREE MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, or gross negligence where applicable law prohibits its exclusion. Use the in-app SOS feature or contact us immediately for any urgent safety concern.
19. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pawalk, its officers, and personnel from any claim, liability, damage, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any right of a third party, including another user or their dog.
20. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms, provide false safety information, or are the subject of a credible safety report. You may stop using the Service at any time and may permanently delete your account from Profile → Delete account, as described in our Privacy Policy.
21. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Egypt.
22. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Service. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
23. General Provisions
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Pawalk's failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not be considered a waiver of that right or provision. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Pawalk regarding the Service.
